Helping clients make sustainable change

Therapy is more than talk. Cognitive-behavioral therapy is an evidence-based treatment for psychological disorders. In CBT and related interventions, the clinician creates a collaborative relationship with the client to understand their problems and establish goals for treatment. Part of this process is a formulation of the thoughts and behaviors that may be contributing to or maintaining the client's problems. Informed consent, a treatment contract, homework, and behavioral experiments keep therapy focused on measurable change. Psychoeducation helps the client contextualize their problems and clarify diagnosis, if applicable.

Dr. Sadie H. Cole is a clinical psychologist who utilizes CBT and other evidence-based interventions, such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP). Dr. Cole specializes in treating adolescents and young adults, as well as adults across the lifespan, with eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other OC-spectrum disorders, and bipolar disorder.
